Canada Day Square

Size: 7"

Materials:
White yarn
Red Yarn
Crochet hook to achieve size

Instructions:
Granny Square:
With White: Ch 5. Sl St in first ch.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, Work 11 dc in ring (12 dc) Note: the ch 3 always counts as first dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, In same st., work 1 dc, ch 2, 2dc. *Dc in next 2 sts. For corner, (2dc,ch 2, 2dc) in next st. Repeat from * ending with dc in last 2 sts. Sl st in beginning ch 3. (24 dc).
Rnd 3-5. Ch 3. Dc in each dc working (2 dc, ch 2, 2dc) in ea ch 2 space for each of the four corners. Finish off White. (40 dc) (56 dc) (72 dc)
Rnd 6: Attach Red in any corner st. Ch 3, In same space., work 1 dc, ch 2, 2dc. *Dc in each dc making (2dc,ch 2, 2dc) in each corner space. Repeat from * ending with sl st in top of first ch3. Finish off Red.
Rnd 7: Attach White with a sc in any st. Sc in each st making 3 sc in each corner space.

Ch 10;
1: Tc in 4th ch from hook; tc in next ch,
dc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch,
sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch;
working on opposite side of ch now;
sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch,
dc in next ch, tc in next 2 ch,
ch 4; sc in last ch.

2: Ch 4; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 2 ch; sc in same st as beginning ch 4;
2 sc in edge of tc, 2 sc in top of tc,
ch 2; tc in next tc;
(dc- hdc) in next st, hdc in next st,
ch 1; tc in next 2 sts;
(dc- hdc) in next st, sc in next st,
3 sc in center sc of top, sc in next sc,
(hdc-dc) in next st; tc in next 2 sts,
ch 1, hdc in next st;
(hdc-dc) in next st, tc in next st,
ch 2, 2 sc in top of ch 4, 2 sc along edge of ch 4,
sl st into base of ch 4.
Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing leaf to granny square.

I'm sorry but I haven't had time to make the square yet, even if I wrote the pattern... The 1st person that send me the scan of the square will receive a little surprise!
